About the Moore Center

More than an educational institution, the Moore Center will focus on addressing regional workforce needs with innovative solutions and collaborative partnerships.

The Moore Center’s powerful combination of location, infrastructure, and workforce will support legacy and emerging companies by committing to providing cutting-edge technologies and practices, paving the way to meet the evolving demands of advanced manufacturing and fostering economic development in central North Carolina.

Central Carolina Community College recognized alumnus E. Eugene Moore for his private $2 million donation by naming the E. Eugene Moore Manufacturing and Biotech Solutions Center (The Moore Center) in his honor. Moore believes giving back to Central Carolina Community College will grow the skilled local workforce and lead to greater economic development opportunities for the region.

The Moore Center will be constructed following a $72 million public and private fundraising campaign. The center utilizes existing spaces at Central Carolina Community College, allowing for a more cost-effective and expedited construction process once the fundraising process is complete.

Once constructed, the Moore Center will become the largest facility in the state focused on addressing the workforce needs of advanced manufacturing and biotechnology.
